A Passion for Giving – EP 12: Pink Aid

Today we welcome Allison and Chris Mitchell of Pink Aid, a 501c3 charity that helps women in need battle breast cancer with dignity and compassion. Since its founding in 2011, Pink Aid has donated more than $6.4 million to 47 different programs and hospitals in Connecticut and on Long Island, seeing out Pink Aid’s mission of “Compassion Until There’s a Cure.”
Allison (Ali) Mitchell is the Founding President of Pink Aid Long Island and Board Vice President for Pink Aid. In addition to her leadership with Pink Aid Long Island and serving as an officer on Pink Aid’s Connecticut-based Board, Ali has served on the committees and boards of various other local nonprofit organizations, including Huntington Hospital, Huntington Country Club, and St. Johnland Nursing Center. Prior to launching Pink Aid Long Island, Ali was an accomplished advertising and marketing executive and has extensive experience in the luxury retail space.
Chris Mitchell is Pink Aid’s Co-Founder and Corporate Chair and most importantly, Ali’s husband! Chris joined his family business in 2003 and continues today at Mitchells Huntington as the store manager and owner. In business for more than 60 years with stores in the Northeast and West Coast, “Mitchell Stores” has earned the reputation as premium purveyors of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories. Chris remains committed to the Long Island store and the Huntington community. He is currently President of the Huntington YMCA Board of Directors and is involved in many other local charities: Huntington Hospital, Don Monti Memorial Foundation & of course, Pink Aid Long Island (Founder and Corporate Chair).
