So, you made the big decision to sell your business. What happens next? What does your life look like without it? What have you done to prepare for this next stage? Diane Drey has lived each and every one of these questions, having purchased and sold several companies.
Diane is a businesswoman, entrepreneur, and business mentor. She holds an MBA from New York University and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Executive Education Owners and Presidents Management program.
For 32 years she directed SnowBird, a five-gallon bottled water company in the New York area. Diane’s team included 120 employees. In 2008 she sold SnowBird to an international firm which allowed her to “retire young”. By that time, the business had been in operation for 87 years.
In “retirement” Diane founded and ran a culinary travel business that brought serious chefs from around the world to Chengdu China to study at the Sichuan Institute of Higher Cuisine. Since 2008 she has been active with Score NYC, a volunteer business counseling organization. Diane has counseled over 1,000 entrepreneurs.
Today, Diane joins the podcast to discuss life after selling. What is some advice for business owners both pre and post-exit?
